Joe Sledge described the castle perfectly, stating, "The cinder block construction was accented with wood floors. It seems maybe the castle was doomed from the start. From sources who have visited, it's strongly advised to not go inside as it might be very dangerous. Rain, snow, and other weather has severely damaged the castle. Sadly, the gorgeous castle has been badly vandalized with graffiti and other destruction. Other homeowners near the property are suspicious of vandals and might call the police on you if you try to visit. Today, you can find it down a long, mountain road. The cinder block construction was accented with wood floors." " The building is not built in one specific style, with tall spires, onion domes of orthodox designs, and walls clad with marble. He goes on to describe what he witnessed when visiting the castle. Maybe we can find out at Castle Mont Rouge." Who knows how long the magic of an old castle remains. Even as the castles age, the ghosts still abide the rules. Gargoyles guard and terrify, making the building upon which they perch even more foreboding. In his new book he writes, "There is a strange and haunting magic hidden in old castles, with their tall turrets and parapets. Joe Sledge, the author of Did You See That? has visited the castle a few times. Other sources cite that the wife (now ex-wife) is very much alive, and the two divorced, with Mihaly still never completing his creation. Rumor has it that after the death of his wife, Mihaly was too depressed to go on with his creation and essentially left it as is. The castle was largely completed on the exterior, but the interior was never completed. Creative differences arose and Mihaly's work was deemed 'too spooky.' He left to pursue his own creations and thus, pursue Castle Mont Rouge. But before you drop down into the Armory, open the cupboard in the left corner of the room to collect your seventh Small Key.Before Castle Mont Rouge existed, Mihaly served as a sculptor in residence at the Washington Cathedral, and even began to work on two commissions for Duke University. The room is lined with knight armor, and you'll enter it in Chapter 9 on your way to retrieve the Lion Head. This Small Key can be found on the second floor of the Grand Hall in the northern room that leads toward the Armory. From here, look left toward the window, and you'll find the Small Key sitting on top of an open book. After solving the puzzle, walk down the long hallway ahead, then take a left and walk to the end of the hall. The first Small Key in the Castle can be found shortly after solving the Lithographic Stone puzzle to escape the Bindery.
Once inside the Church, walk onto the altar and the Small Key will be on the table to the right of the pulpit. The fifth Small Key can be found in Chapter 4 when you finally enter the Church. The Small Key will be on a junk-filled wooden cart on the eastern end of the Forest Altar. After unlocking the gate, follow the path and climb the ladder to reach the Forest Altar. Sail the boat to the Lakeside Settlement and head north to open the locked gate with the Insignia Key you found in the Village Chief's Manor. The fourth Small Key can be collected in Chapter 4 after accessing the boat docked near the Mural Cave.
